Target Color : Chestnut brown level 7 with a natural darker root and toned highlights

PROCEDURE:

Balayage: Apply k.blonde powder + 10 vol. with a teasing and weaving technique - place the hair in foils and process up to level 9.
Apply Chroma 5/00 +18 vol . at the roots/regrowth area. Leave for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, remove the foil and rinse the bleach out. Comb through the root color.
Mix Chroma 5/00 +18 vol. to be applied on the ends and emulsify. Leave for another 20 minutes.
Shampoo with Gentle Balance and style.

Previous Color : Ash Blonde level 7 with three to four inch regrowth
Target Color : Ash Blonde level 8 with face framing

PROCEDURE:

Do the face framing first. Follow the hair line for the sectioning, back to back technique with teasing and maximum of 5 foils using k.blonde and 30 vol . Start on the left side burn up to the corner of the front. Do the same sectioning on the other side.
After both sides, do the top hairline section. Use three foils.
After the face framing, proceed to the back and front section. Apply k.blonde powder + 10 vol. weaving and teasing technique. Level 8 target level.
Shampoo with Gentle Balance .
On damp hair, do the base break using Collage 10/22+ with 10 vol . Leave for 5-15 mins. Shampoo with Gentle Balance shampoo.
On damp hair, apply Collage 10/13 +10/00 + Pearl toner + Gloss Long Lasting . Leave for 15 mins.
Shampoo with Gentle Balance and style.

Soften Chunky Highlights with Reverse Balayage

Procedure

Apply Collage 7/61+ +15 vol. 3 inches from the roots to create a root shadow and to soften the chunky highlights near the roots. Leave for 15 mins.
Apply Collage 0/00+ 20 vol to the ends. Leave for 20 mins.
Shampoo with Gentle Balance shampoo.
Dry the hair with a blower on cool setting, then apply Collage 10/17 + 10/22+ GLOSS Long Lasting halfway from the mid lengths to the ends. Leave for 20 mins.
Shampoo with Gentle Balance shampoo and style.

Note: Reverse Balayage is a technique to add depth and dimension to overly coloured and lightened hair.

Refreshing a balayage with a big regrowth with face framing

Balayage was done with k blonde powder and 20 volume. After she was shampooed and rinsed, k.blonde clay was used freehand with 20 vol to further brighten some pieces around the face. Lightening was done to level 9-10. On the roots, Gloss 5/00 was used + Long Lasting. On the mid lengths and ends, pearl + Long Lasting. Our model had a very dark big regrowth with very light level 8-9 ends from a previous color job. Chantelle kept her natural root color and refreshes her balayage.

PROCEDURE

An overly lightened hair needs depth and dimension with two formulas to give it a more natural Lived-in look.

Balayage with deep V application. Use k blonde and 20 volume with iplex.
In between the balayage sections, weave and apply a lowlight formula using 8/17 and 7/61 plus 10 volume in equal parts. Wrap these in foil. Process this for 40 minutes.
Wash and dry the hair.
Apply the toner using this mixture: 10/22 25 grams + 10/17 10 grams + 0/02 25 grams with 10 volume. Process for 35 minutes

PROCEDURE

For this model, we will tone down her over lightened hair using two ash based formulas.

Note: For Gloss application, make sure hair is very clean. For tone on tone effect, apply Gloss on towel-dried hair- processing is 20-30 minutes. For a permanent effect, apply gloss on dry hair for 40 minutes.

Start at the back. Make a vertical parting in the middle. Make diagonal sections.
- Do normal sized weave.
- Apply formula A: Gloss 9/00(40g) +10/17(20g)+ Gloss Developing Emulsion.
After applying the first formula, mix the second formula and apply to all the remaining hair.

In mid-2017, Lakmé welcomed the Edwards and Co Team from Australia, winner of Australia’s best salon for 2017, who trained our stylists for several days on the newest trend – Lived-In Color.

Lived-in Color is a coloring technique that mimics natural brunettes and blondes by adding depth and dimension to the hair. If we look closely at natural brunettes and natural blondes their hair is not just one color, but several tones – lighter because of the sun and darker because of growth at the root.

Recreating this technique on dark Filipina hair involves doing a balayage, (painting in French), a freehand movement that’s more difficult than it looks as the stylist tries to catch where the light will hit the hair to gain maximum effect. The stylist paints in a highlight, a low light and a mid-tone to create movement in the hair.

Because the root area is purposely left dark, the wearer can enjoy her lived-in color for two to three months with minimal retouch.
